Instructional Design

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone! Phewwww week 10 already (finals coming....) Okay so last week I already shared to you about my assignment video. Have you guys watch it? Better you guys watch it if not, you will be missed with important things that I shared there. Basically this week, I will share a new knowledge that I just learned in the class just now. Today, madam taught me about instructional design. What is that?

Instructional Design - A systematic process that is employed to develop education and training programs in a consistent and reliable fashion. (Reiser and Dempsey 2007)

In addition, it may be thought of as a framework for developing modules or lesson. It often uses instructional technology as a method for developing instruction. Basically, it is the practice of systematically designing, developing and delivering instructional products and experiences both digital and physical. There were many models and theories that I had to learn and understand before Madam Azida asked us to create our own software assessment which is called e-learning courseware. But of course, Madam will guide us beforehand.

Instructional design is also can related with CALL. The instructional design in CALL involves creating computer courseware for learning. The courseware acts as supplement or support to lesson and not as complete replacement. Other than that, you can design the courseware for inside and outside of lesson. In th class, Madam mentioned that learning outcomes is more important compared to objectives because the two are completely different things! Learning outcomes gives the lessons a unified aim to be achieved.

Besides, I also learned that there were actually many ISD models such as Gagne 9 Events, Dick and Carey, Rapid Prototyping, Guaranteed Learning, ASSURE and ARCS. I will explain these models next week on my next post (since we already have too much to adopt this week).

Last but not least, before the class ended, madam taught us about ADDIE Model. What is ADDIE model? ADDIE is not a name okay.

ADDIE model is a framework for the development of instructional coursework. To make you understand it better, I put the picture below on further explanation on ADDIE model.

So guys, I think that is all about for this week post. Too much knowledge I think. Do not worry, next week, I will update more on instructional design since I just learned only the basic today. As I said above, I will explain more on ISD models. So, stay tuned everyone for new knowledge next week!

Video assignment #Vaccination

Hi and assalamualaikum guys! I am back for another updates for week 9. Do you remember what I promised you last week? YES! I am going to share with you our explainer video for our assignment 2 that made by my group mates and I.

To be honest, it was not easy okay. So many tiny tiny small small things that we have to handle and edit to make it fall in perfect place in the video (serious). However, even with the difficulties faced, but with the cooperation of my group mates, everything just fall perfectly. I am so grateful for that and so grateful that we can submitted the video on time as requested by Madam Azida.

Apart of the difficulties faced, it was a new experience for me in editing this video explainer. I am so lucky because one of my group mate, she is quite an expert in editing this animation video. I learned a lot from her and also of course from Madam Azida. She showed us various explainer videos in Youtube for us to get some ideas such as, the characters, background music and transitions. This week, madam showed my video as well as my classmates' videos. I am so amazed by other videos made by my classmates. They are so creative! Not to forget to mention, madam love all of our videos. I hope we get high marks for the video (hehe thank you madam).

Okay so before I end this post, I will share the link of the explainer video. It was posted in my friend's blog, so just click the link here and you can watch it! Remember everyone, when you becomes parents one fine day or maybe you are now parents, please please and please vaccinate your children. I hope when you watched my video, you will know that why it is important to get vaccinate.

That is all for now. Till my next post. Stay tuned!

Explainer video? What is it?

Hi and Assalamualaikum everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Phew now is already week 8 well well.. how time flies is it? Alright so today I'm going to tell you guys a new knowledge I got for this week 8.

Basically, Madam Azida told us about our assignment 2, which is explainer video. Wait.. what is explainer video? I bet everyone had watched explainer video.

Explainer Video - Short animated video that focuses on explaining a business idea in a simple, engaging and compelling way by using a clear and concise language which is appealing and attractive visuals that quickly grab the viewers' attention.

So, for this assignment, we have to create an explainer video or campaign by using any animation maker such as Powtoon that I told you before and also Animaker. To make our works easier, madam showed us some example of explainer video in Youtube so that somehow, we can get ideas on videos that we want to create later. She also asked us to prepare the topic for our video and asked us to be in group of three.

My group mates and I, we decided to create explainer video about Importance of Vaccination.

We chose this topic because we want to educate or maybe to inform people out there about the importance to do the vaccination on their children. Some of people they did not want to vaccine their children because of some reasons, for example, hesitate of halal status, do not have time (seriously?) and many more. So, we hope that by doing this video can somehow change the mindset of people out there that refused to do the vaccination.

We discussed what the things that need to be display in the video and we will make it interesting for people to watch. We are still in progress making the video however, next week, I will post the video. So, stay tuned!

So let's start! First of all what is Powtoon? Powtoon is the brand new Do-It_yourself animated presentation tool. It is almost the same with Microsoft Powerpoint if you get used to it. It is just somehow quite related to it. I will explain more. Powtoon supercharges your presentation and videos. The good news is your can save massive amount of money and time! You do not have to hire anyone else since you now can create your own video. Either you want to create an awareness video, or maybe for your business purposes.

Powtoon has animated presentation tools that allows the users to express their creativity in their presentation. Other than that, it produces animation combined with many types of "cool" graphics and give more appealing and engaging presentation that is similar to a cartoon style. It will be more fun to be watch rather than just plain video. (good way to promoting your business). To make your work easier, just click Tutorial on how to use Powtoon. I hope somehow this tutorial will help you on creating your first Powtoon video.

How to edit podcast?

Hi everyone! So, last week I already rant to you about what podcast is and also I reviewed a podcast about “Will eating dates helps your labor?”. Do you listen to the podcast? I hope you do because it is very interesting and there’s also lots of other topics that Vanessa Marten talks about.

For this week, madam taught us on how to edit the audio for podcast. She also asked me to create a podcast with my pretty partner, Izzatie. Our podcast entitled, “Dangers of using counterfeit cosmetics”. I can’t wait to finish recording it and if Ψ§Ω„Ω„Ω‡ wills, I’ll share it here okay? Okay so madam told us that there are few software and applications that can be used to edit your audio for podcast. Some of the softwares that can be used are Audacity, Wavepad and many more. But the most suggested by my madam is, Audacity. Eventhough, it is quite complicated to use it but the outcomes is the bomb! I am familiar with this Audacity software since I once used it before so it is not really complicated for me to do the editing. But practice makes perfect guys! Get used to it and you’ll be good.

Nothing much happen this week, just madam asked me to find information about my podcast topic which is the counterfeit cosmetics. So, during the class Izzatie and I browsed throughout the Youtube to find videos that related to our topics. We need to make our podcast interesting and not bored for people to listen to it. Tips? Insert some humor πŸ—£ (lol I am not funny) But yeah, let’s try! πŸ€œπŸΌπŸ€›πŸΌ

In the podcast, the information, we have to search based on facts that were stated by those who are experienced. We also have to present the voice clearly and precisely without noise that may distract people from hearing it. Another tips? Record your voice with high quality earphone and record it  underneath your blanket! (yes, blanket). Why? Because you don’t want, when you are recordingg, there’s vehicles sounds suddeny in your audio or maybe the sound of the fans. So yeah, record it underneath your blanket! The most easiest way.

I think thats all for now. Try out all those tips when you want to recording your podcast. Goodluck! Stay tuned for my next post ✨

#PodcastReview

Hello everyone welcome back! Time to learn about new thing today. I think this post will be benefits to those people that loves to read but doesn’t want to read (what?) lol it’s kind of people that want to know or learn new thing but, they don’t want to glue up their eyes on books or maganizes. So, hows that? Besides, they just have to listen while doing anything you want, and BOOM you got new knowledge. Amazing right? Okay so now I’m going to introduce you to Podcast! So, what is it?

Podcasts- a free service that allows Internet users to pull audio files (MP3) from a podcasting Web site to listen to on their computers or personal digital audio players. The term comes from a combination of the words iPod (a personal digital audio player made by Apple) and broadcasting.

If you are ever dreamed of having your own radio show, you can start podcasting and share what you’ve got with other people πŸ˜‰ Basically, this week Madam Azida asked me to listen to a podcast and review it. How’s the quality, the information, and more. She asked me to visit Podbay and choose topics that interesting. You may go to this website and browse the topics that you want to hear or gain and gain new knowledge. There are many many many interesting topics to browse on.

Basically, topic that captured my eyes is about pregnancy and about motherhood (seriously Aifaa?) I don’t know. It is kinda weird but I love to search about baby kicking, pregnancy mom’s diet πŸ˜‚ no I’m not married yet, it just like early preparation (I guess? lol) So I picked “Will Eating Dates Helps Your Labour?” by Vanessa Marten. This podcast is 14 minutes long. She is basically talks about kids and family in her podcast.  Basically everyone knows that, eating Dates is good for your body. Prophet Muhammad saw also said that dates are good for your health, in fact he’s also eat dates for sahoor during Ramadhan and it’s a sunnah for us muslims.

If you want to listen to the podcast, check out this link. This will be benefited your all of us actually regardless you are boy or girl. If you are a boy, then you can tell this to your wife.

Dates are safe and beneficial to the mother and baby. The fructose sugars in dates break down quickly offering energy without altering blood sugar levels in the body. They also have laxative properties, which stimulate contractions in the uterus and shorten labor. Vanessa shared that eating 6 dates per day for 4 weeks leading to due date is good for labor! If you have diabetes you may want to consult with doctor and your midwife before eating amounts of dates. There are basically many type of dates which are Khadrawi, Dayri, Amber and many more. Different types of dates, have different taste. Some are less sweet for those who loves less sweet like me. She also said that during pregnancy, you need more energy than usual. Consuming a handful of dates every day will supply the required sugars without adding extra calories.

Other than that, Vanessa also said that babies are born with low Vitamin K. If the mother consumes dates, they meet the requirement of the vitamin when the baby breastfeeds. Vitamin K aids in clotting and bone development. Dates boost the oxytocin effect (contraction of the womb), which increases the sensitivity of the uterus. The saturated and unsaturated fatty acids in the fruit supply energy and produce prostaglandins required for labor. Also, the serotonin, calcium, and tannin present in dates help in the contraction of uterine muscles.

Vanessa gives ways of eating dates other than just only eat the date itself:

  • Smoothie: Dates with yogurt can a great smoothie combo.
  • Dessert: Add dates to couscous (steamed balls of semolina) along with sesame and pure honey.
  • Syrup: Mix dates and some milk in a blender, and drizzle it over ice cream, wheat waffles, toast, or oatmeal.
  • Sweetener: It can be a great replacement for sugar in milk or juices.
So, remember to consume at least 2-3 dates per day when you are pregnant as it will beneficial for your baby and also for yours. That is all of my feedback about Vanessa Marten's podcast. Overall, the way she delivered the message is understandable, her words are clear and precise and in fact, her intonation is good and there is no distracting noise that can distract through out the listening process. Stay tuned, for the next post!
